Class of 2020 Senior Spotlight - Jeffrey Grow

1) What has been your biggest disappointment/hardship since schools have been closed for the remainder of the academic year?
Just before school closed, Langley's robotics team finished in second place at a competition in Bethesda, Maryland. We had worked for weeks to build the robot and I was so proud of the team. I was looking forward to competing again, but unfortunately all future tournaments were cancelled.
2) What are your plans for the fall?
I plan on attending the University of Virginia and studying computer engineering. I hope there will be face-to-face classes in the fall because I am looking forward to experiencing college life.
3) What is your passion?
I love building and tinkering around with computers. Because of Covid-19 stay-at-home orders, my dad has been working from home. I am able to help him with computer issues as he teleworks.
4) What are your hopes for the future?
I hope that things become somewhat normal so I can finish my undergraduate degree and go to grad school.
5) What are you most proud of about your school experience/best memory?
My favorite memory from high school was during my sophomore year when Langley's quiz bowl team reached the national championships. At the competition in Reston, I helped the team make a strong finish to the year.
