Last weekend our students participated in the 26th annual National Japan Bowl in Chevy Chase, Maryland.  The National Japan Bowl is the “Super Bowl” of Japanese language learning.  It is widely recognized as the premier national academic competition for high school students of Japanese.  Each spring the gathering draws over 200 high school students from across the nation to compete in Washington DC.

Results of this year's competition:

Winner of the National Championship
Langley level 3 team of Helena Lu, Ashley Wang, and Rheeta Kiefman
Our level 3 team is the best among all public and private schools that teach Japanese. Helena, Ashley and Rheeta will receive a trip to Japan completely funded by the Japanese government.

13th in the nation
Langley level 4 team of Leila Tejani, Dianne Ge, and Maya Kalidindi

17th in the nation
Langley level 2 team of Erica Kang, Elissa Jewell, and Amanda Tang

What an amazing accomplishment for these world language students.  We are so proud of all of you. Congratulations!
