End of Year SMARTR Outcome

Increase SOL pass scores by 10% in Reading, and 5% in Algebra II and Geometry in our Special Education Sub-groups.

Strategy 1

  • Langley High School will continue to use and refine the Academic support groups to remediate and prepare students for the SOL exams.

Strategy 2

  • Langley High School will obtain the APEX program to deliver targeted remediation to our students with disabilities.

Strategy 3

  • Langley High School will use the special education Strategies for Success class for targeted and individualized remediation, skill review and SOL preparation.

End of Year SMARTR Outcome

90% of the Langley High School teaching staff will utilize at least two Project Based Learning activities in their courses by the end of the 2017-18 school year.

Strategy 1

  • Administration will be trained and will provide training to teachers.

Strategy 2

  • Administration will provide resources to teachers necessary to meet this smarter goal.

Strategy 3

  • A schoolwide faculty read will be used for teachers to learn more about the Engagement Model.

End of Year SMARTR Outcome

100% of Langley High School students will have access to opportunities to mitigate stress by building relationships in the Langley community through involvement in school activities during the 2017-18 school year.

Strategy 1

  • Langley High School will continue to offer programs at all grade levels that address mental and emotional health issues.

Strategy 2

  • Director of Student Activities will advertise clubs and activities to students to increase their awareness of these activities.

Strategy 3

  • A Service Period will meet monthly during our intervention time to allow students the opportunity to participate in service learning activities during the school day.
