PSAT/SAT School Day Information

PSAT/SAT School Day is October 9, 2024.  All 10th and 11th graders will take the PSAT/NMSQT, the qualifying test for National Merit, while opt-in seniors will take the SAT School Day.  Seniors who did not opt in SAT School Day and freshmen do not attend school on October 9; it’s an unscheduled day for them.

In preparation for the exam, students were provided their College Board Bluebook test ticket to prepare their device for the assessment and to access practice test questions in their advisory class.  Important reminders were communicated to students in their advisory class.

Students must use a fully charged FCPS Chromebook to take the digital PSAT/SAT.

  • Students must bring their FULLY CHARGED school-issued Chromebook on October 9.
  • Options for Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) Students:
    • BYOD students are students who DO NOT have an FCPS device checked-out to them.
    • Option 1: Before October 9th you may check out a loaner Chromebook and charger in the tech office (Rm. 2213) during advisory period(s). This can be returned after testing is complete.
    • Option 2: On October 9th a Chromebook loaner will be available for BYOD students ONLY.
  • Important Note: Spare Chromebooks are limited and will ONLY be used for students who BYOD or for students with technical issues on the testing date. Students who forget their device will not be permitted to test.

On October 7, students will receive their testing location along with other pertinent information for exam day via their fcpsschools.net email.  The enrolling parent will be copied on this communication.
